Mr Kanishka Agarwal, Nielsen Mobile

Kanishka Agarwal is responsible for driving the growth agenda of Nielsen Mobile into the emerging mobile media space. He has more than 10 years of comprehensive experience in the communications, media, technology and mobile market research industries, and is a seasoned speaker and mobile industry expert on such topics as mobile content, including gaming, music and entertainment and converging communications. Prior to Nielsen Mobile, Kanishka spent five years at Booz Allen Hamilton, including a year at Sprint PCS developing new products for the enterprise wireless data market. He also helped launch a wireless middleware start-up and a telecom infrastructure software spin-off from Lucent — both through Booz Allen's incubator arm. For more than two years, he ran sales and marketing at an enterprise software start-up (now a part of PeopleSoft). Kanishka holds an MBA from Stanford University, as well as an ME and BS from Harvey Mudd College.

Mr Ray Andersen, Bango UK

Ray is Chief Executive of Bango, the business that uniquely enables content providers to market, deliver and sell their products and services directly to mobile phone users on all networks world-wide. He co-founded Bango in 1999 after realizing that the convergence of the internet with the ubiquity of mobile phones could open up huge opportunities for content and service providers.

Ray is an entrepreneur, innovator and investor with 20 years experience. He was named "Technology Entrepreneur of the Year" in February 2006 and in September 2006 at the ME Awards was given a special award for outstanding contribution to the mobile entertainment industry. He holds a 1st Class Degree in Computer Science from Cambridge University. He is a keen pilot.

Mr Simon Andrews, Mindshare

Simon has launched 4 digital agencies.

The first, in 1995, was a dismal failure – few marketers understood the internet then and even fewer cared. The next three were more successful – Simon was one of three partners who launched what became Modem Media in Europe – growing a business from 6 people in one room in Soho to 250 people in London, Paris and Munich. He then joined DLKW in 1999 at the time of their management buyout and built DLKW Dialogue into one of Londons most respected digital agencies before launching Big Picture in 2005 which focused on emerging media such as mobile, social networks and newTV. He joined MindShare in November 2006.

Before going digital Simon was Media Planning Director of Young & Rubicam and Zenith Media, and then Account Planning Director of Ogilvy Direct.

Outside of work Simon trys to have his two sons Ethan and Isaac share his enthusiasm for obscure soul and jazz records and the increasingly obscure Leeds United.

Mr Marco Argenti, Dada.net

With a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pisa, Marco Argenti previously worked in Canada for Microforum Inc., a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. He returned to Italy in 2001 to become Chairman and Managing Director of Wireless Solutions, a Dada group company, as well as Executive Director of the Dada S.p.A. wireless projects.

In 2003 Argenti was appointed Managing Director of the Dada Consumer Division where he successfully contributed to transforming the activities of this division from 'network of Portals' into an 'Online Operator', able to offer the Italian market a unique range of Premium community and entertainment services, based on various payment methods and accessible both via web and mobile.

In June 2007 Marco Argenti was elected to the MEF board of directors, the prestigious association that represents all the stakeholders within the Mobile Entertainment value chain; with more than twenty years experience in the technology sector, Marco Argenti will contribute to the activity of the MEF bringing his know how on topics such as Content/IP Filtering, the implementation of mixed billing models and the optimization of web and mobile user experience.

Frank joined Vodafone in March '07. In his current role, Frank covers marketing strategies and planning, new business development and partnerships, roaming and interconnect, pricing and distribution, and customer insights.

Previously Frank was the Executive Vice President – Brand and Consumer Marketing for the Orange Group, responsible for brand and consumer propositions, market research, product marketing, devices and commercial planning. Prior to this Frank held various senior roles with Vivendi and Corporate Value Associates (CVA), including EVP Strategy for SFR Group, COO for Vivendi Universal Net and Global Head for Telecom, Media and Technology for CVA.

Frank also served on the Board of the GSMA during 2005-2006 and was Chairman of the Strategy Committee.

Frank is a graduate of the École Polytechnique and of the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées. He majored in network economy and management.

Mr Russell Buckley, Admob

Russell is one of the leading experts on mobile marketing, having overseen nearly 3,000 campaigns since 2000. MobHappy, his blog about mobile technology and mobile marketing, is one of the most popular on the web focusing on this area. Before specializing in mobile, he spent over 15 years working in marketing, including advising leading brands such as Coca-Cola, Diageo, Texaco and Mars. In 2000, he was recruited to be Director of Marketing of mobile marketing start up, ZagMe, one of the leading pioneers in mobile advertising. Russell learned about AdMob soon after the launch and joined as the first employee, with the remit of launching AdMob into the EMEA market.

Russell is the Deputy Chairman of the Board of The Mobile Marketing Association for EMEA, is a regular speaker on mobile at conferences throughout the world and has published many articles, as well as a white paper on location based marketing.

Mr Andrew Bud, MEF & mBlox

Andrew Bud is co-founder and Executive Chairman of mBlox Inc., the world's leading mobile transaction network. Prior to assuming the role of Executive Chairman in 2003, Andrew was the CEO of mBlox, which he co-founded in 1999 and led to profitability.

From 1988 to 1996, Andrew was head of mobile technology for Olivetti SpA in Italy. In 1994, he became the founding technical head of Omnitel (now Vodafone Italia). From 1989 to 1996, he led the European development of DECT (the predecessor of WiFi), and launched Europe's first wireless LAN system.

Between 1996 and 1999 he was a Director at Connect Communications Group, a leading European provider of corporate telecommunications services, and was the Group Marketing Director with Azlan plc, the £200m European distributor of internet technology. His earlier background was in mobile technology R&D with PA Technology.

Andrew is a Board member of the global Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF), which he helped found in 2001 and to which he was re-elected in 2003 and 2005. Bud is the Vice Chairman. In April 2005 he was appointed to the Board of PhonepayPlus, the UK regulator of premium-rate telecoms services.

Andrew is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IEE, and is a graduate of the University of Cambridge.

Carey is responsible for the development of Yell.com's mobile platform, Yell.com mobile, and for evaluating and leading mid-term new revenue opportunities.

In the past he was Chief Technology Officer at Webraska (mobile telephone satellite navigation, location-based services, and online digital mapping) and VP Engineering at Netquartz (digital rights management technology). Prior to this he was professional Services Manager at Verizon (telecoms).

He has a PhD Electrical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a MS/BS Electrical Engineering, Tufts University.

Mr Stephen Burke, MCN Inc

With over 20 years experience in the consumer electronics and wireless industries in Japan, the U.S., and Europe, he has played key senior management roles with the innovative companies that launched digital cellular services in the US, mobile browsing and messaging, mobile multimedia, and mobile broadband services. Burke has built and led profitable international teams to launch CDMA (as VP, Sony Wireless Telecommunications Co. and GM Sony/QUALCOMM CDMA Sales joint venture), mobile multimedia (as CBO of PacketVideo and president, PacketVideo Japan K.K.), wireless enterprise applications (as CEO of vVault Inc, sold in 2003), wireless broadband (as VP and director, SOMA Networks Japan KK), and at Openwave Systems where he was VP Product Management and Marketing for the Client Group.. Yves Confalonieri began his career in Mediaset in 1988 with Publitalia '80.

In 1996, he created the New Business Division and led the Mediaset teletext project and commercial launch.

In 1998, he became Director New Media and from 2000 to 2003 he was General Manager of Mediadigit (New Media development company part of Mediaset Group).

Yves is currently the General Manager of the RTI Interactive Media Division for development of digital activities in Mediaset.

He has recently launched Mediaset's online portal, a pay-TV proposition for studio content like Nip/Tuck and key Serie A football matches, as well as streamed live events. Yves will discuss the proposition to the viewers, as well as the incorporation of community and user-generated elements, whilst maintaining editorial control.

Mark is CEO and founder of Handmade Mobile Entertainment which he started with Avi Azulai in 2004 and is backed by Seraphim Capital and Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures. Handmade Mobile operates Flirtomatic, a cross platform social networking service based on flirting which is designed to be a seamless user experience between PC and Mobile. Flirtomatic is one of the UK's most popular mobile internet services.

Prior to founding Handmade Mobile, Mark was previously a founding partner at Fjord, which specialises in creating and developing new platforms and services for working across mobile and internet applications for clients such as Nokia, Orange and the UK government.

Mark has successfully founded two other companies besides Handmade Mobile and Fjord. In 1989 he co-founded Curtis Hoy Ltd, an promotions aggregator that pioneered the selling of promotions across networks of independent commercial radio. In 1994 he established CHBI – a spin out from Curtis Hoy – that specialised in developing new media propositions for UK companies. In 1998, CHBI was acquired by Razorfish. Post acquisition Mark became global EVP of Skills at Razorfish.

He has written a book on the social effects of digital media – “Distraction”, and has 5 children. He likes mountains, wine and bicycles.

He has also been asked to edit a major new book about the impact of the power of the network on everything we do and are.

David is extremely interested in finding new ways for companies to engage with communities - and with themselves. Julia Dimambro has spent the last 10 years in new media and digital communications industries. Starting her career with London based digital agency, Deepend, Julia successfully launched and integrated the first interactive division of London advertising agency, J. Walter Thompson, working on interactive marketing campaigns for Kelloggs, RAF, Barclays and some of the first Interactive TV trials for Sky.

After relocating to the United States, Julia returned to Europe and spent 2 years working for Private Media Group, where she managed all of Private's Internet content partnerships. She later joined the newly founded Wireless Department as Commercial Director and set up some of the world’s first mobile content deals and marketing campaigns for the large, publicly listed media group.

In September 2003, Julia founded Cherry Media to create and deliver compelling entertainment products, as well as end-to-end marketing solutions, utilising powerful digital media platforms. Cherry Media’s unique service portfolio enables brands or consumer-orientated aggregators to reach, acquire, engage and retain a receptive, high-spending and loyal client base.

Owning and operating several key independent consumer brands, like the world-famous name in mobile adult entertainment Cherrysauce, the company works with leading content producers, media outlets, distributors and mobile operators in both retail and wholesale sectors around the world.

Darren has more than a decade experience working in the interactive space in Australia, Asia and Europe, specialising in developing compelling, interactive products and brands in the mobile, web and handset application areas. He has been involved in his own successful web start up, working with many major Australian clients before selling it to Dimension Data, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange. He joined Hutchison Whampoa in 2000 as one of the first Australian employees of its start up 3G business 3. There he was responsible for setting up the company's product design and production arms and creating its launch portfolio of content products before relocating to London to work at WHAM, Hutchison's global brand agency. He currently focusses on creating experiences in the mobile web digital space for many Hutchison and external fast moving consumer brands.

Mr Tom Eslinger, Saatchi & Saatchi

Tom spearheads Saatchi & Saatchi's fast-growing worldwide interactive capability. He works from New Zealand and London with both a worldwide focus across network clients for interactive creative, strategy and operations, and an London focus with respect to UK and European clients to develop interactive and mobile initiatives and programs.

The North Dakota native has been a Creative Director of Interactive for Saatchi & Saatchi since joining in Wellington, New Zealand in 1998. He has a role on the Worldwide Creative Board of Saatchi & Saatchi to drive market share and consumer involvement through web, e-commerce, mobile, games, rich media, viral and all emerging mediums. Tom leads the creative and strategic growth of Saatchi & Saatchi’s interactive and mobile capability, adding new teams and capabilities and forging worldwide partnerships with online and alternative reality gaming (ARG), software development, virtual worlds, mobile and strategic partners to drive capability with best-in-breed companies.

Tom is a multiple Cannes Lion winner, most recently taking Gold in 2006 for online and mobile innovation with Rubbish Film Festival and receiving 7 Shortlists at Cannes in 2007 across Media, Print, Cyber and Titanium. He has been awarded for his typographical and interactive work by D&AD, One Show, Clio, Effies, New York and London International Festivals, Art and Type Directors Clubs, Future Marketing Awards, AXIS (NZ) and AWARD (AUS). Lee Fenton is the chief operating officer (COO) of Jamster, the mobile industry’s largest vertically integrated mobile entertainment company. Fenton is responsible for leading Jamster’s consumer experience worldwide. Fenton’s core focus is on enhancing the company’s consumer offering with oversight of the global brand, consumer marketing, content acquisition and product packaging.

A pioneer in the mobile industry, Fenton has extensive experience in creating desirable mobile content and consumer experiences for a global audience; maximizing carrier and partner relationships; and building successful mobile entertainment business models.

Fenton has a variety of global management positions. At Vodafone, the world's leading mobile telecommunications company with a significant presence in EMEA, Asia Pacific and the United States, Fenton was pivotal in creating world-leading, mobile entertainment customer propositions. Among Fenton’s many accomplishments at Vodafone was the development of a subscription service available in 20 countries offering custom content based on users’ tastes and preferences. He was also responsible for concept development, design, content, delivery and ongoing management of consumer propositions across Vodafone, including the award winning Vodafone live! service.

Fenton also served as commercial director at Vizzavi Limited (Vivendi/Vodafone joint venture) where he was responsible for re-engineering the business model of the joint venture and integration into Vodafone. Other experience in the digital entertainment industry includes senior positions at Cable & Wireless and Gameplay.com. Fenton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in culture and media from the University of West England. Fenton is based in Berlin, Germany.

As CMO, Ujjal led the creation and development of the AirTouch Cellular brand at its inception. Monty has worked in the mobile and online entertainment sector for 10 years and is a well-respected writer and commentator on the industry. Previously, Paul was Communications Director at games testing company Babel Media where he was instrumental in setting up the mobile games division and a two-year exclusive with Vodafone Live!.

Prior to joining Bebo Ziv founded and ran Verve, a boutique management consultancy offering strategic advisory services to leading companies in the US, UK and elsewhere. Verve's client list included Google, Microsoft, BBC, Infospace, RealNetworks, Network Appliance and many others. Before founding Verve, Ziv was Managing Director at Startup Station Plc; a private equity firm he founded and then sold to a UK public company. Ziv was also a co-founder of Tagma, a Logistics consultancy and Automatic For The People, a CD-vending business.

Before founding Startup Station, Ziv served as Executive Director at the Institute for Technology and Enterprise, New York's premier Management and Technology research centre. His work at the Institute focused on the disruptive effects new companies have on established businesses.

Mr Patrick Parodi, MEF & Amobee

Patrick has over 15 years of experience in the wireless and interactive media industries in over 20 markets worldwide. He has held management roles at Alcatel, PacketVideo, Diveo Broadband Networks, Skytel, Teleworx and TVAnswer (Eon Corporation), and had profit & loss responsibility for Alcatel's growing Mobile Video & Music business unit. In particular, Parodi was responsible for Alcatel’s commercial successes with the likes of T-Mobile, Orange, DoCoMo and Sony Network Services.

As General Manager for Europe and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of Amobee Media Systems, Patrick is responsible for Amobee’s business in EMEA, as well as the company’s overall marketing activities. Amobee is ad-funding the mobile business by delivering personalized, dynamic and targeted advertising impressions to mobile users.

A staunch activist in the world of mobile entertainment, in 2004 Parodi was elected Chairman of the Mobile Entertainment Forum, the leading global trade association representing both the mobile and entertainment industries.

Mr James Patmore, Amdocs

James Patmore is Vice President, Europe and Middle East Amdocs - Advertising, Commerce, and Entertainment Division. James has been working in this role for three and half years and he is responsible for leading the sales team and for achieving the revenue goals for the division in the region.

During his time at Amdocs, James has been responsible for winning and developing a number of important customers for the division, including the signature of the Managed Download Service agreement with T-Mobile International, where T-Mobile outsourced their content download business to Amdocs in a multi-year and multi-territory agreement.

Prior to Amdocs, James worked for O2 UK, where he was in charge of Consumer Data Products, during this time O2 launched new Premium SMS, MMS, Mobile Video and Music services.

Mr Tony Pearce, Player X

After 15 years in senior management in the entertainment industry, Tony moved to Digital Bridges (I-Play), a leading mobile phone content provider. As Global retail Sales Director he was instrumental in launching mobile phone games into the European retail market and operator channels. Prior to this role, Tony was a co-founder and Business Development Director of Digimask, a technology solution for the games industry. Between the period of 1995-99, Tony was Sales Director at Telstar and helped launch their videogames division. His knowledge of the commercial opportunities and large number of contacts within the games and mobile industry area is a major asset to Player X. Tony is a member of the advisory board of the industry-leading Mobile Entertainment Magazine.

Mr Javier Perez, Dolset Zed

Javier Perez Dolset, 38, founder, Chairman and CEO of Zed Group, is an entrepreneur with a wealth of experience in products and services based on new technologies. Javier has a degree in Economics from the Autonoma University of Madrid, and in European Business Studies from the British University of Humberside.

In 1992 he and his brother Ignacio took over the general management of Proein, a company dedicated to the distribution of videogames. A year later, they started a project of Internet content and access, Teleline – Spanish pioneer ISP, which later became Terra - in partnership with Telefónica. During this time at Teleline, Javier Pérez held the roll of CEO and General Manager until 1996. That same year, after selling 50% of Teleline to Telefonica, the brothers set up Pyro Studios and LaNetro.

LaNetro was founded in 1996 offering interactive leisure and entertainment content accessible from any device with access to the Internet. In 2002 realizing the opportunities arising in the mobile industry, the company decided to concentrate its efforts on Mobile Value Added Services (MVAS). In September 2004, LaNetro acquired the mobile content pioneer, Zed, from Nordic operator TeliaSonera. The company changed its name to LaNetro Zed.

In 2007, LaNetro Zed brought the world’s first platform that integrates mobile and web community services. That same year, in February, LaNetro Zed acquired Monstermob, its British competitor, becoming the leading mobile value-added player in the world in terms of revenue and geographical footprint.

Mr Andrew Perlman, Vringo

At Vringo Andrew is responsible for Vringo’s American operation and global content relationships and partnerships with online and mobile communities. He joined Vringo in July of 2007. Prior to Vringo he was Senior Vice President of Global Digital and Music at Entertainment Rights, plc (LON:ERT). Entertainment Rights controls over 8,700 video titles and associated new production and merchandising rights. Andrew was Vice President of Digital Media at Classic Media until its acquisition by Entertainment Rights. He has created digital licensed products and services for ER's brands including He-Man, Godzilla, Transformers, Rocky and Bullwinkle, George of the Jungle, Casper the Friendly Ghost, VeggieTales and others as well as created co-marketing campaigns with Alltel, Cingular and Sprint. He has driven deals with market leaders such as AOL, Joost!, Google Video, YouTube, MobiTV Infospace, Matertronic, Ignition Games and Genius Productions. He also led efforts spearheading digital anti-piracy efforts. Prior to Classic, Andrew was General Manager for the Rights Group, LLC where he oversaw mobile marketing campaigns for major international brands such as Visa and Pepsi. In this role developed and negotiated relationships with technology vendors such as Comverse, Mobile 365 and Mobliss. He was also responsible for selling and executing mobile products including the Britney Spears mobile fan club and Justin Timberlake and American Idol branded karaoke. In addition he also worked on sponsorship deals between Britney Spears and Samsung and Justin Timberlake and Orange U.K. Previously, as Marketing Director at JCOR Entertainment, a privately funded record label, Andrew managed online marketing and operations for its artists. Mr Matthew Postgate, BBC

Matthew Postgate has been the BBC's Controller of Mobile since May 2007. He has specific responsibility for coordinating the corporation's public service presence across all mobile platforms. Ashley Highfield, Director of BBC Future Media and Technology, said of Matthew's appointment: "Mobile is an increasingly important area for us and a key part of our multi-platform strategy. Matthew brings a wealth of knowledge to the role and will drive the BBC's continued success in this field." Russ was appointed as Director of Innovation for Telefónica in July 2007. In this role, Russ is focusing on creating and implementing an innovation agenda in close collaboration with the Telefónica operating businesses, across Spain, Europe, and Latin America. Ingrid is a partner in the Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT) department at Denton Wilde Sapte LLP. Ingrid has been involved in the communications sector for over 12 years. Dan Whiley joined MTV Networks International (MTVNI) in 2005 as Commercial Vice President, Digital Media, to lead the company's commercial activities in the digital media space. In this role, Whiley is responsible for developing initiatives and partnerships that strengthen MTVNI’s global presence as a multi-platform entertainment group spanning all technologies from broadcast TV to broadband, PC and mobile handsets. He reports directly to Gideon Bierer, Senior Vice President of Digital Media, MTVNI.
